Generating accurate captions locally in Cilevi

When creating tutorials with dedicated product demo video software, clear subtitles matter just as much as smooth cursor movement. Cilevi builds transcription directly into the application, keeping your audio private on your local drive instead of uploading it to cloud services. Users looking for a capable screen studio for windows can pick between the instant Windows recogniser and an integrated Whisper engine. Whisper lets you download speech models based on your priorities. The default Standard option sits at 264 MB, transcribing 15 minutes of English audio in 1.4 minutes on a 24 core desktop. If you record in other languages or need greater precision on unscripted dialogue, the 574 MB Better quality model or the 1.1 GB Best quality file provide substantial accuracy gains. Unusual terms and brand names can still confuse speech algorithms. In testing, the smallest model interpreted our own product name as "Kailevye". Adding Cilevi to the built-in Prompt box fixed the tran...

How crash-resilient recording protects your footage

Image
People hunting for the best free screen recorder often discover that unexpected crashes ruin their footage. Standard MP4 files write their main index at the very end of a capture. If a computer shuts down or a process halts beforehand, media players cannot decode the video, leaving behind an unusable file.

Cilevi solves this by recording in continuous chunks, each carrying its own independent index. In our stress tests, when a capture running to 24.40 seconds was terminated abruptly, the resulting file still played cleanly right up to 23.37 seconds. Opening and saving the clip in Cilevi restores full scrub-bar seeking across any external player, so the repair remains permanent wherever the file travels.

We built Cilevi to serve as the best screen recorder for windows 11 and Windows 10. Rather than charging monthly subscriptions, it costs a single purchase of 50 dollars. Beyond crash-resilient capture, it automatically smooths mouse movements, zoo...

Why we built Cilevi

Image
There is a category of screen recorder that does something ordinary recorders do not. You hit record, you click around a piece of software, you stop, and what comes back is not what you did. It is zoomed in where you clicked. The pointer glides instead of twitching. The window sits on a coloured background with a soft shadow under it. It looks like somebody edited it, and nobody did. We wanted to make that kind of recording. On Windows, in 2026, that turned out to be harder than it should be, and the reason is the whole story. Screen Studio is the tool that defined this category. It is genuinely good. It is also macOS only, and has been since it launched: there is no Windows build, and there is no Windows build on the roadmap either. If you ask, you are told it is not planned. Read the full article on Cilevi
