Fixing a phantom camera bug in our windows video software

When testing our upcoming screen recorder with editor for Windows 10 and 11, a user reported an odd rendering error. Their exported video showed two camera bubbles at once, even though they only placed one. At first, our team suspected the compositor. We checked dirty rectangles, cross dissolves, and missing tracks, but every internal check came back clean. The surprise culprit was the live preview window itself. On certain older Windows builds, the operating system call designed to hide floating control elements from screen capture silently fails. As a result, the raw recording already contained the preview bubble before our editor touched it. Instead of blindly hiding tools on every machine, our software now checks the actual registry build number. If the exclusion call is untrusted and there is nowhere else on the screen to park the floating interface, a simple warning appears before you record. Current Windows systems experience zero changes and zero warnings. If you want a straightforward clipchamp alternative for fifty dollars with no subscription, you can soon find Cilevi on the Microsoft Store.
